Barrow back in 1947

BARROW-UPON-SOAR’S Sue Hobbs has sent in this copy of an old Echo from 1947, in the hope that someone may have the original picture, or even know anybody on it.

Sue E-mailed to say: “On 20th September, 1947, Barrow held a celebration of the men and women’s service during World War Two.

“Mr Bert Perkins who was there sent the village heritage group a newspaper cutting which he thinks was from the Echo. It would be interesting to know how many of these people are still alive.

“Bert is on the picture and still has the invitation he received.”

Unfortunately the Echo no longer has the original picture, but we wondered whether there might be an original copy still around?

Also, do you now anybody on the picture?
