Woman on Road: Teens are charged with kidnap
TWO teenagers have been charged with kidnap and other offences after a woman was found lying seriously injured in the carriageway of a major county road last week.
The woman was taken to hospital after she was found on the A6 near Loughborough on Thursday morning, September 17, and is said to have sustained “life-threatening” injuries.
Leicestershire Police said: “Two men have been charged following an incident on the A6 near Loughborough.”
They were due to appear in court on Monday.
The force continued: “Chay Bowskill, 19, of Empingham Drive, Syston, has been charged with kidnap, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.
“Rocco Sansome, 18, of Wanlip Lane, Birstall, has been charged with kidnap and possession of a class B drug.
“Both men have been remanded to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday September 21.
“The charges relate to an incident on Thursday, when a woman was found with life-threatening injuries on the A6 near Loughborough.”
Earlier, the force said the woman was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
Detective Inspector Mark Parish, from the force’s complex investigation team, appealed for motorists to get in touch if they have dash cam footage or saw the woman in the road.
Officers shut the northbound lanes between Mountsorrel and Loughborough following the discovery, which was made around 10.45am.
The southbound lanes were shut later to allow the air ambulance to land.
