‘Challenge’ competition
SILEBY Photographic Society held its annual ‘Graham Johnson 12-Shot Challenge’ competition at its Zoom meeting on Monday, October 12.
Usually, this takes the form of entrants each displaying a board containing twelve prints which would closely represent the predetermined subjects. However, whilst the principle of the competition remained the same, the format this year, in view of Zoom restrictions, meant that digital images replaced the prints.
This year, it was the turn of visiting judge, Carol McNiven Young, FRPS, EFIAP, CPAGB, BPE3* to award her marks for each, taking into consideration the photographer’s interpretation and perception of the subjects, as well as the image being photographically good.
After analysing each image in detail and comparing like with like, Carol eventually declared Mandy Sherrington as the winner, closely followed by Richard Storier in second place, with third place being awarded to John Hoogerwerf.

John Hoogerwerf, President, thanked Carol for her efforts in providing an objective view of the images put before her which, in itself, was quite a challenge when taking into account 96 images to scrutinise.
The next Zoom meeting will be held on Monday, 2nd November, when visiting photographer, Steve
