Brett Barnard has starred in Wiltshire Fa Farm Foods’ latest advert, which features th the iconic song, Bring Me Sunshine. Brett said: “I know Paul who was in last ye year’s advert and he said how much he en enjoyed it, so I thought I’d enter this year, as the part didn’t involve any speaking an and I’m a good whistler.

“It’s been a great experience. We’ve been using a rain machine, so I got wet a fe few times.

“It didn’t take too many takes so I must ust be a natural – EastEnders here I come!” The company delivers frozen ready meals.

Telling his customers about the advert h has made Brett something of a celebrity in t the area, with some even asking for his a autograph.

He said: “They’re excited to see me on th the television and I’ve told them all about th the song which I’ve been whistling to them. “It’s surprised me how many people have to be involved in a process like this behind th the scenes - it’s certainly been eye-opening.” in

Wiltshire Farm Foods is a franchise-operated at business, and Brett is based at the Lo Loughborough branch, which is managed by Suzie Leeson and Rob Stanton. Suzie was delighted that one of her drivers will be starring on our screens for the foreseeable future.

She said: “This is the second year one of our drivers has featured in the advert, which makes us very proud.

“Clearly the charisma of the north shines through on screen.

“As chance would have it, three of the drivers who have appeared in the adverts over the years have come from Melton Mowbray, so there must be something in the water.”

The Loughborough branch delivers to 1,700 customers, covering Melton Mowbray, Rutland, Loughborough, Ashby de la Zouch, Derby and Ashbourne.

For Brett, making a positive difference to his customers’ lives is hugely rewarding, especially given the current pandemic.

He said: “Some of our customers are quite blasé about Covid, saying they’ve lived through harder times during the war. Others are worried. “They’re extremely grateful for the service we provide and we’ve received lots of hand-written thank you cards.” Meeting customers, getting to know them and even becoming friends in some cases, is the best bit of the job for Brett.

He said putting a smile on their faces, making a difference to their lives and bringing sunshine into their homes is what he says makes the job worthwhile.

It’s surprised me how many people have to be involved in a process like this behind the scenes - it’s certainly been eye-opening.
