OAKS STORER HALL OPEN FOR BOOKINGS. The Oaks Storer Hall, Oaks Road, Oaks in Charnwood, Leics LE12 9YD is now open for bookings.

The hall capacity is 80 seated and 100 standing and adjacent to St James’ the Greater church. It is fully equipped with a recently refurbishe­d kitchen installed in 2019.

The hall is set in the beautiful countrysid­e and suitable for christenin­gs, tea parties, quiet days, small conference­s or regular group meetings. To hire the Oaks Storer Hall the cost is £13 per hour plus £100 deposit. The telephone is not manned all the time so please leave a message on the answerphon­e stating your name, telephone number and which service you wish to attend and we will be in contact to confirm a place has been reserved. Or you can email office@ shepshedan­doaks.co.uk giving the same informatio­n. In line with government regulation­s, places are limited and face masks will need to be worn. Hand sanitiser will be available upon entry to the church and an attendance record list. Places need to be booked by Thursday as the Parish Office Managers day off is Friday.

HOLY COMMUNION. Holy Communion on Sunday November 1 at 8.30 am with Rev Lydia Humphreys and Michael Thorpe.

ALL SOULS SERVICE. An All Souls Service with Rev John Bird to remember those no longer with us, will be held on Sunday November 1 at 4 pm. Please let the Parish Office know if you would like to have a loved one’s name read out at this service.

REMEMBRANC­E SUNDAY.

A Remembranc­e Service with Rev Rosie Whitley will be held on Sunday November 8 commencing at 10.45 am.

FAMILY SERVICE WITH HOLY COMMUNION. A Family Service with Holy Communion will take place with Rev Lydia Humphreys on Sunday November 15 at 11 am.

HOLY COMMUNION. Holy Communion on Sunday November 22 with Rev John Bird at 8.30 am.

ADVENT SUNDAY. The Advent Sunday Service with Holy Communion will be held on Sunday November 29 at 8.30 am with Rev John Bird and Philippa Taylor.

OAKS MOTHERS’ UNION NEO NATAL KNITTING. A number of knitted baby garments have been swiftly dispatched to the Leicester General by friends of the Oaks Mothers’ Union sisters - Sheila and Ellen and friend Di.

These have most gratefully received at the Neo Natal Unit and the knitted garments included 85 matinee sets, 10 hats, 23 baby blankets, 10 bonding triangles and 2 octopus.

If you would like to donate any DK baby yarn in white or pastel colours for our knitters to whom we are very grateful, please contact Janet Quenby on 07890 464009.

OAKS SEQUENCE DANCE CLUB. It is with regret due to restrictio­ns of the COVID - 19 ‘Rule of six’ that at present we are unable to meet in the Oaks Storer Hall. Hopefully next year we will be able to resume our popular sequence dance club, for further informatio­n contact Barbara Powell secretary on 01059 503091.
