Williams and Parize are back...

-

LOUGHBOROUGH Lightning have secured the talents of England U21 mid-courter Hannah Williams for the upcoming 2021 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

After a successful debut season with the side in 2020, Williams returns for her second season to build on her previous performances in purple.

“I enjoyed my time with Lightning last year, it was a bit of a no brainer as to whether I wanted to come back. The team, the dynamic, the pathway, everything about the set up here was what brought me back.”

Now back together for pre-season, Williams commented on the side’s return to training:

“It’s really good to be back, being around everyone with the jokes and laughs again is so nice. I’m really looking forward to playing again, even training! Just having the lifestyle of training and studying and some structure back in my life.”

Also back for a third season with Loughborough Lightning is 22-year-old goal attack, Lucy Parize, who will continue to balance her career as an accountant alongside the demands of a heavy training and playing schedule.

Parize was a key player in Lightning’s success at the 2019 British Fast 5 where the side were crowned champions for the second time.

She said: “I was really excited to come back, obviously it’s strange with us all in bubbles and with additional measures in place but Loughborough have done a brilliant job of making sure everyone’s following the guidelines, so I do feel very safe coming onto campus.”
