BBC does have an agenda and is not impartial

-

JOHN BUCK made some interesting observations about the BBC in his letter.

I would add that he is by no means a lone wolf in his view that the dear old Beeb has a distinctly pro-establishment agenda and therefore is not impartial and unbiased.

In making this point, there are issues that need to be understood. This does not detract from the undoubted quality of most of its broadcasting and the numerous good people who work for the BBC.

Like most organisations, the real power lies at the very top and its real agenda is largely unspoken. However it is not difficult for the discerning to work out.

The Beeb supports The Crown which effectively runs the UK. They have not challenged the Government’s coronavirus narrative in much the same way as they always present Britain, one of the most war-like countries on the globe, as defending our legitimate interests.

This is the same organisation, let’s remember, that helped keep Sir Jimmy Savile’s secrets safe and never once since questioned his close friendships with members of the Royal Family.

It’s treatment of US politics in recent years has been so biased it almost defies belief. I can’t recall ONE positive piece of coverage of Donald Trump in four years whilst Joe Biden is being presented as a lovely man – please do your own independent research!

Could it just be that The Crown felt threatened by a maverick rather than a puppet being in The White House?

You’re so right, John, the BBC’s days are numbered – at least in terms of its licence. We deserve and need a broadcaster for the people, not to protect vested interests!
