A KARTING ace from Loughborough has made the move up to national competitions after two successful seasons winning trophies galore at club level.
Zac Starbuck is only eight but he has already won 25 trophies in his young racing career including victory in a winter series at Stretton Raceway and success at Wombwell kart club and Shennington.
Now he has passed his Motorsport UK licence which gives him access to national competitions and his family has secured a series of sponsorship deals to help finance the youngster’s racing ambitions.
Mum Leigh said: “We have had great support from sponsors including Hillmoren,
Fnr Graphix, Hardwick Windows and Focused Farriery. Loc8me Letting Agency have also backed Zac and have been really impressed at Zac’s dedication to his sport and are very keen to help support local up coming talent.”
His first race at MSA level was at the end of October at Fulbeck kart club where he competed in the Honda Cadet class where he won his second race and finished second in the final.
Starbuck completed the Shennington championship season with a second placed finish in the overall standings, and was placed second in the Wombwell series curtailed by the second lockdown.
Mum Leigh Starbuck said: “He will be competing at MSA level fully next year in the Huntsman kart track in Kimbolton, which runs from January to December.
“We are waiting for dates to be finalised before deciding which other championships he will run in during 2021.”
