Changes to the borough waste service during festive period
DETAILS of how waste collection services in Charnwood will take place over the Christmas period have been released by the borough council.
Many waste collections and other services are to alter, including refuse, recycling, garden, bulky items, commercial/trade and clinical.
Waste and recycling
■ Tuesday, December 22 collections will change to Monday, December 21
■ Wednesday, December 23 collections will change to Tuesday, December 22
■ Thursday, December 24 collections will change to Wednesday, December 23
■ Friday, December 25 collections will change to Thursday, December 24
There will be no collections on:
■ Christmas Day (Friday, December 25)
■ Boxing Day (Saturday, December 26)
■ Monday, December 28
Collections will proceed as normal from Tuesday December 29 to Thursday December 31
Friday January 1, 2021 collections will change to Saturday January 2, 2021
Garden waste collections
There will be no garden waste collections for two weeks for the weeks commencing Monday, December 21 and Monday, December 28. The service will recommence from Monday, January 4, 2021.
Bulky waste collections
There will be no bulky waste collections for two weeks for the weeks commencing Monday December 21 and Monday December 28. The service recommences from Monday, January 4, 2021.
The final bulky waste collections of 2020 will take place on Saturday, December 19.
Residents are asked to book their last collection by 2pm on Thursday, December 17.
Any bulky waste collection applications made after then will be collected on Monday January 4, 2021, from 6am. Please ensure your bulky items are out by 6am on your changed collection day.
Clinical waste collections
Clinical waste collections will take place on Wednesday, December 23 and Wednesday, December 30.
Commercial/trade waste collections
Commercial/trade waste collections will take place on Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 29. Please ensure your bin is out by 6am on your changed collection day.
