£3,000 prize promised in hospice draw

-

PEOPLE in Leicestershire could be leaving lockdown £3,000 richer if they scoop the top prize in the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People’s Superdraw.

The Superdraw plays a crucial part in raising the necessary funds needed to keep Rainbows running and, on average, raises around £60,000 each year.

The hospice, which cares for more than 450 children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, including those from Leicestershire, has launched its Superdraw 2021 with a top prize of £3,000. Other cash prizes of £250, £100 and £50 are also up for grabs.

Tickets, which cost £1, can be purchased until Friday, March 19. The lucky winner will be drawn on Friday, March 26.

Jennifer Varnam, Lottery and Supporter Engagement Coordinator at Rainbows, said: “This year has been so tough for so many people and I am sure £3,000 would be a very welcome prize. By buying a ticket, you will also be making a difference to lives of the children, young people and families we support each and every day.

“Because of Covid, we have had to cancel all of our events as well as closing all of our shops, and fundraising has taken a big hit. We also had to cancel last year’s Superdraw so we are very excited that it is back. We hope that people will support us to continue providing the invaluable care to the children and young people who need our help.”
