SOUVENIR TEA TOWELS. Around 200 souvenir tea towels produced by the vibrant Sutton Bonington playgroup have now been sold, thrilling those at the group whose idea it was to have it made.

Playgroup Administrator Sarah Cowley says the tea towel, pictured, has aroused a lot of interest in the group, currently of course suffering from the coronavirus pandemic restrictions. The towel design was by Martin Paling who very kindly gifted the image to them.. “The towel has various village landmarks on it including our playgroup itself, the Old School Room building on Bucks Lane, being the building with the rainbow on top.

“We have been astounded by the response so far and we’re very grateful to everyone who has purchased one already. And we are also very grateful to Any Wear Embroidery for doing such a fabulous job supplying us with them.”

The towels are sold at £9 99p each and all proceeds from the sale of them will be going to the village playgroup charity, who have aims to try to renovate the playground for the children who are part of the group which talks lace in he Old School building.

The playgroup say they have really missed their fundraising over the past year and are hoping the tea towel sales can help them to make a difference, and in anticipation of local people supporting them by buying a towel are offering thanks to those concerned for their support.
