The public will want vaccination passports
YIPPEE, at last we’ve been advised of the government’s planned roadmap for lockdown easing!
Not long to wait to sample all life’s little pleasures we’ve been denied this past year.
This just shows how conscientious the majority of people are.
Of course there have been the irresponsible few who threatened to sabotage the rules and jeopardise everyone. Luckily, they have been found out and have to face the consequences.
Now we all have to do our bit to ensure lockdown can in fact be eased and continue to be cautious.
That was one thing that didn’t seem to have been mentioned – are masks still to be worn when we can go out and about again?
In certain countries people carried on wearing theirs after airborne epidemics – Sars, etc – seemed to be over.
There are people who are not going to have the jab. Why not when it could save their life? They probably don’t care about other people, otherwise they’d accept their appointment and get their dose. But do they have no regard for their own life?
Some of the national newspapers report that certain businesses are bringing in vaccination passports to protect their workforces and customers, though the government has no plans to bring in legislation for them. Why not?
The government may not wish to bring in more restrictions but to save lives, help the NHS.
After the draconian measures it has brought in, surely a simple thing such as a vaccination passport is a guaranteed way to ensure we stop the virus and maybe even eradicate it from the UK.
Checks on people coming into the country will still need to be carried out.
We accept passports and even having to have inoculations when we go to certain countries, whether for work or holidays.
We accept driving licences. Some people carry cards listing their health issues so that it is a help if they are involved in an accident.
Some people have bus passes, cards for whatever club they belong to, why not a vaccination card?
If only by showing your vaccination certificate would you be allowed to go in for a drink, meal, etc, who could argue?
Actually, the government doesn’t need to bring in legislation. Peer pressure will do it. After all, if you want to have fun and live a life, come along and Join Our Club!
L Measom,
