Series of club art events are set to go live online

-

ON Wednesday (10th March) Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club is to host a free two hour workshop to encourage new artists to develop their painting skills.

The workshop will be given by Sue Faulkes a Leicester based professional artist widely respected in the art world.

Paul Lockton the club’s chairman said: “Sue is one of our favourite demonstrators and we are excited to welcome her back with an imaginative ‘Circus’ theme that is sure to challenge and inspire us.”

The free workshop is one of a series of online events funded by the COVID Emergency Fund to encourage new talent to the club.

Sue’s inspiring art techniques are perfect for the developing artist.

During the session she will explore how to bring gracefulness and realism to performing figures in movement against a colourful backdrop of the ‘Big Top’.

“Workshops like this will enable new and established painters to learn new techniques as well as attracting new people into the club,” Paul Lockton told the Echo.

“Apparently a big obstacle for new artists is how to combine images to make a single piece of art. So, Sue will walk people through the composition and bringing movement into pictures in a realistic and exciting way.”

The club has assembled an impressive line-up of artists to follow. This including Phil Biggs with impressive country homes (7-9pm on March 24th), Mike Skidmore’s fine charcoal Portraiture (10.30am - 12.30pm on April 14th) and Melanie Cambridge painting Seascapes (7-9pm on April 24th).

All the presentations will be free-of-charge and delivered online.
