OAKS MOTHERS UNION. It is that time of year again and the Mothers Union Annual Subscripti­ons are due.

This year the Oaks Mothers Union has leapt into the 21st Century and we now have an online payment facility. If preferred you can still by cash or cheque and this year’s subscripti­ons will be £25. Your payment must be received by Friday March 12. Cheques to be made payable to Mothers Union Oaks in Charnwood (please do not abbreviate the account payable name). EASTER SWEET SHOP QUIZ. Don’t forget to enter our Easter Sweet Shop Quiz, completed quiz sheets cost £5 each must be returned by Friday March 26. If you require a copy posted, please ensure you send a stamped addressed envelope. We have three wonderful Easter themed prizes. Ist prize an Easter basket, 2nd prize Easter eggs and 3rd prize Easter treats.

The winners will be chosen from a random draw of names of quizzers who have answered the correct questions. As St. James the Greater Church is still closed for services, the draw will take place on Wednesday March 31 at St Botolph’s Church after Morning Prayers.

St. James’ the Greater Parochial Church Council (PCC) are appealing for help to raise funds because of the drop in income which has resulted as a direct effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. We acknowledg­e that it may not be possible for everyone to assist but if you are willing to put your giving on standing order, increase your standing order or donate it would be deeply appreciate­d.

CHURCH OF ENGLAND FREE PHONE LINE. The Church of England have set up a free phone line (0800 8048044) for daily hymns, reflection and even chair exercises, quite uplifting while trying to focus on prayer in these strange times. This operates 24 hours a day for those who cannot reach out onine.
