PLANNING APPEAL. Because Rushcliffe Borough Council did not make a decision on a planning application involving proposed new housing in East Leake within the stipulated time, the would-be developer has submitted an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.

Mr Martin Valentine submitted a proposal for the development in which he was seeking permission from the Borough for the erection of 22 new dwellings and a 3.5m high ball strike net to the eastern site boundary on land East of Cornflower Way and balancing ponds on Costock Road.

The Council has not yet decided this application and an appeal against nondetermination has been made to the Planning Inspectorate.

Mr Andrew Pegram, the Borough Service Manager, Communities, says they previously advised that any additional comments on the application should be made directly to the Planning Inspectorate, and that they would notify those involved when a date for the appeal hearing had been set.

On 4 February, the appellant submitted a revised Statement of Case to the Inspectorate, which includes a proposed mix of 2/3 bedroom dwellings and amended roof designs. The Inspectorate have accepted this statement to be included for their consideration at the appeal.

A copy of the revised Statement of Case (published 08 Feb 2021) can be found on the Council’s planning online webpage at planningonline. rushcliffe.gov.uk and if anyone wishes to make comments on this revised information, those comments needed to be made to directly to them., They will forward any representations made on to the Inspectorate.
