X Factor star Diana joining Strictly’s Tom for thriller at city theatre
PRODUCTION TO RESUME ITS TOUR HERE
CURVE has announced that The X Factor songstress Diana Vickers will be joining the cast of Dial M for Murder, which will resume its UK tour this autumn in Leicester.
Diana Vickers will star alongside Strictly winner and Casualty actor Tom Chambers, Christopher Harper and Michael Salami as they resume their roles in the genre-defining thriller.
Performances begin on Tuesday, August 31 at Curve, before the tour continues around the UK, finishing at Malvern Theatre in December.
The new production of Frederick Knott’s stage and screenplay - made world-famous by Hitchcock’s iconic 1954 film – is directed by
Anthony Banks.
Strictly’s Tom Chambers stars as the charismatic and manipulative Tony Wendice, a jaded ex-tennis pro who has given it all up for his wife Margot, played by Diana Vickers.
When he discovers she has been unfaithful his mind turns to revenge and the pursuit of the “perfect crime”.
Diana Vickers first came to public attention as a semi-finalist on The X Factor in 2008 and has since appeared in theatre productions including The Entertainer and Little Voice.
Christopher Harper (Coronation Street, Strangers on a Train) performs in the dual roles of Captain Lesgate and Inspector Hubbard and Michael Salami (Hollyoaks) as Max Halliday, Margot’s lover.
During lockdown Tom, Christopher and Michael continued their theatrical collaboration, starring together in Apollo 13: The Dark Side of the Moon, an online dramatisation of the troubled 1970 lunar mission.
Anthony Banks directs Frederick Knott’s Dial M for Murder, produced by Simon Friend and Gavin Kalin.
Dial M for Murder will run at Curve from August 31 to Saturday, September 4, with tickets on sale now. To book, call 0116 242 3595 or:
