Matthews hattrick helps Dynamo to easy win

-

Loughborough Dynamo ran out comfortable 6-1 winners in a clinical performance at home to Yaxley in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

In truth, it was a game where Loughborough Dynamo always looked comfortable, and their goalkeeper Jay Alexander never had too much to do.

In a game where four Dynamo players got on the scoresheet, the standout performer was Tristan Matthews who became The Moes first hattrick scorer in just under three years.

There was an early indication of what was to come in the first 10 minutes when after a lot of Dynamo pressure, left back Josh Riley made a great run down the wing and his cross found Ryan Nesbitt but his shot was well saved by the keeper.

However, just two minutes later, Nesbitt made amends by scoring an incredible goal. Taking the ball down on the edge of the area he turned and burst past defenders into the box, before going round the keeper and slotting the ball home to make it 1-0.

For about 15 minutes after the first goal things settled down. Both teams passed the ball around and waited patiently for openings before Tristan Matthews scored two goals in three minutes.

The first goal came from a great cross from Kevin Bastos who was unmarked on the right and his ball in was met by Tristan at the back post.

Then just three minutes later, Ryan Nesbitt burst into the box with the ball and Tristan Matthews ran onto it and his low shot beat the keeper and found the bottom left-hand corner of the goal.

In the second half, all eyes were on Tristan Matthews to see if he could get his hattrick and it took him just two minutes to pounce on a loose back pass to the Yaxley keeper and he went round him and scored with a composed finish to make it 4-0.

After some substitutions, Alex Steadman won the ball in the Yaxley half, and he burst past a defender into the box before beating the keeper with his shot to make it 5-0.

And then with just six minutes to go, Dan Collins got his second goal of the season. He received the ball on the left-hand side of the box and cut inside onto his right foot and his shot also found the corner of the goal to make it 6-0.

At the death, Yaxley converted a penalty to see the game finish 6-1.
