Strong away win for Shepshed

SHEPSHED Dynamo bounced back from two consecutiv­e defeats with a resounding 4-1 away victory at Wisbech Town which moves them into mid table of the Pitching in Northern Premier Midlands Division.

Dynamo took the lead on six minutes through Karl Demidh and despite dominating the first half led by a solitary goal at half time.

Wisbech Town started the second half strongly, but it was Shepshed who doubled their lead on fifty five minutes through Matt Melbourne.

The Fenman pulled one back on sixty five minutes through Toby Allen.

Dynamo restored their two goal lead on sixty nine minutes through Reece Morris and Josh Mundell completed the scoring in injury time.

Shepshed started well John King linking with Melbourne who was offside.

Dynamo took the lead on six minutes a neat through ball from Melbourne was tooked away by Demidh.

Jadahn Harper then put Demidh through a minute later but his effort was blocked.

Wisbech’s first chance of the game came on eleven minutes Danny Draper advanced down the left he found Avelino Viera with Cameron Gow blazing wide.

Dynamo took control of the half from then onwards Shaquille O’Neill Brooks ball over the top forced Charlie Congreve to head clear from Melbourne on twelve minutes.

Liam Canavan, Morris, Harper combined well with Harper’s cross finding the head of Melbourne which was just wide.

O’Neill Brooks then sent the ball over the top of the Town defensive line and Congreve was out of his area to deny Morris on fifteen minutes.

Demidh was then blocked from Harper’s ball a minute later.

Shepshed continued to dominate King down the right found Harper and his cross was just beyond the out stretched Melbourne on eighteen minutes.

Canavan’s free kick was blocked by Jon Fairweathe­r in twenty minutes and Canavan fired over from the rebound.

Demidh was fouled by Draper on twenty three minutes Congreve saved Canavan’s free kick.

Harper was a constant threat down the right and his effort was straight into Congreve.

Canavan put the ball through to King who was unable to bring it under control and Draper forced a corner on the half hour mark.

King’s effort was deflected wide on thirty six minutes and Congreve saved from Morris a minute later.

Congreve punched clear from Canavan on thirty nine minutes and despite numerous chances

Shepshed only led by one goal at the break.

The first chance of the half was for Shepshed, Demidh corner was met by the head of Canavan with his header over on forty six minutes.

Wisbech came into the game more prominentl­y for the first time in the game. Draper’s threatenin­g cross was cleared by Harper on forty eight minutes and a minute later Draper’s cross was met by Viera his effort was into Ganley but was offside.

Jordan Smith then fired a ball over the top to King, Draper blocked on fifty minutes.

Ganley’s cross goal kick found Harper down the right he cut inside and was brought down by Congreve for a penalty.

Melbourne stepped up to take the penalty he despatched it with confidence but it was disallowed for encroachme­nt in the area. The resultant spot kick crashed against Wisbech’s crossbar on fifty two minutes.

A minute later Canavan fired wide Shepshed made it two on fifty five minutes, King cut into the box, Morris pulled the ball back and Melbourne rifled home.

On the hour mark Smith did well to intercept Gow who would have been clean through on goal.

Wisbech made the game a more anxious affair for the dominant visitors on sixty nine minutes. Viera’s left side cross was met by Allen with a neat header beating Ganley.

Town were searching for an equaliser on sixty seven minutes Lynas King did well to clear Draper’s cross.

Shepshed extended their lead on sixty nine minutes, Canavan moved his free kick to the right Demidh’s effort was saved by Congreve and after a well worked set piece, Morris sent home the rebound.

Dynamo took control of the game again playing patient football. Morris put Tamar Clayton through on eighty two minutes with Congreve saving.

Wisbech pressed in the final minutes of the game to try and get back into the game but Smith shielded from Toby Allen for a goal kick on eighty two minutes.

Clayton was dangerous down the right and flashed his ball across on eighty nine minutes.

Mundell made it a perfect day out for Shepshed lobbing Congreve to make it four in injury time.

After two defeats on the bounce it was a great response from Shepshed a result which moves them upto 12th in the table.

Dynamo return to The Dovecote Stadium next Saturday at home to Histon.
