Shepshed storm to victory with Lister leading the way with the bat

Shepshed’s 1st team played their last home game with a fixture against Market Harborough 1sts and it was Shepshed who batted first and after their 45 overs they had scored a superb 264 for 7 with Jake Lister top scoring with 65.

Ben Clarke scored 43 along with Karl Shaw who was run out for 42. Corey Chantrill hit 40 and

Skipper Andrew Gibson scored 32 in a fine display of batting by the Shepshed lads.

In reply the Shepshed bowlers bowled some remarkable spells as they bowled Market Harborough out for 163 in just 26.4 overs.

Ben Clarke took 3 for 30 along with Corey Chantrill,Andy Miller and Adam Clapton all taking two wickets while Tom Parker took one as Shepshed won the game by by a massive 101 Runs.

Shepshed’s 2nds were away for the last time with a game at Appleby Magna 1sts who batted first and after 44.5 overs Shepshed had bowled them out for 149 with both Jack Pilkington 3 for 42 and Angelo Kidd 3 for 36 the main wicket takers for Shepshed along with a single wicket for Amo Trehan, Andy Kenneth and Issac Read.

Unfortunat­ely things did not go to plan with the bat for Shepshed who are having no luck at present as they were bowled out for just 106 in 35.5 overs with Andy Kenneth top scoring with 34 along with Amo

Trehan 19 and Charlie Stevenson 10, the three of them being the only players to reach double figures for Shepshed.

There was a great spell of bowling by Josh Knight for Appleby who took 5 for 35 from 11 overs which in the end enabled Appleby Magna to win the game by 43 Runs.

Shepshed’s 3rd Team were at home for the final time this season against Ratby Town 2nds who batted first and after 40 overs and scored a very fine 288 for 8 with Macleod top scoring with 104 along with Tinsan who scored 56 not out. The pick of the Shepshed bowlers were Luke Spillman and Owen Tuckwood who both took two wickets along with a wicket for Peck, Barney and Bottrill.

The Shepshed batsman got stuck into the Ratby bowlers with opener Eathan Brentnall top scoring with 57.

Mark Ashdown hit 38 and Kevin Hillier was among the runs again as he scored 22. Owen Tuckwood and Ian Blunt both hit 20 along with Phil

Ashdown and George Peck both scoring 14 but unfortunat­ely it was not Shepshed’s day as they finished on 230 for 7 from their 40 overs which resulted in Ratby winning the game by 58 Runs.
