-

UHL MIDLANDS DIVISION ONE BOURNE TOWN 3 INGLES 2

INGLES suffered a 3-2 defeat at Bourne on Saturday as the home side bounced back from a half time deficit to score three times after the interval.

Ingles boss Kelvin Granger had to make three changes to his starting line up with Kyle Fowkes, and River Hardy unavailble and and Roland Princewill being injured.

And two minutes into the game they were forced to make an early change after Aboo Younis pulled his hamstring after just two minutes.

The game was very open and both teams played a good tempo and it was Ingles who took the lead with a great ball from Callum Hardy to Billy Clarke who found the net to put Ingles 1-0 up at half time

After the break Ingles had a great chance to go 2-0 up but Zak Yusef shot wide but the home side levelled on 64 minutes through Harry Fitzjohn and then took the lead nine minutes later when a cross across the box was tapped in by Jake Mason.

As Ingles pushed to get back into the game a long punt up to striker Aaron Warrener gave Bourne a two goal advantage and although an own goal made it 3-2, Ingles couldn’t get backl on level terms.

After the match Ingles boss Granger said: “We hit the bar and had plenty of opportunities to have scored today but if your aren’t ruthless it can cost you and it proved that today.

“I have to give credit to Bourne, they are one of the better sides we’ve played this season, they were a constant threat and didn’t stop for 90 minutes.”
