Dynamo play off hopes rocked by home defeat
LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 1 BEDWORTH 2 Northern Premier League Midland Division
LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo’s play off hopes hang in the balance after a 2-1 defeat at home to Bedworth writes James Kendrick.
With just three games of the season left to go, Dynamo now have to rely on other results to go their way if they are to finish in the top five.
A goal inside the first minute from Harvey Westwood in the first minute put Bedworth ahead before Christopher Cox doubled their advantage in the second half.
Dynamo defender Taylor Anderson did grab a consolation goal for the hosts but the result means Loughborough have won just one of their last eight.
Loughborough were forced into a tactical switch up for this game with neither of their starting centre backs able to play.
Manager Tom Hayes chose to move to a three at the back formation but the gamble didn’t pay off when Harvey Westwood was unmarked in the box in the first minute to turn home a rebound from a corner.
Loughborough started extremely sluggishly and were unable to muster a single shot in the first half as they chased the game.
The quality of football on offer in the first half was not the best from either team with conditions making it hard to play the ball on the ground.
The introduction of Eddie Bamfo for Dynamo at half time did increase their impetus and made them look lively in the final third.
But despite their continued pushing for a goal in the second half, they just couldn’t quite get back on level terms.
And the sucker punch came with 20 minutes to go when Christopher
Cox pounced on another set piece to double Bedworth’s lead.
Taylor Anderson gave Dynamo hope with a fantastic low rocket of a shot that found the bottom corner but Dynamo were consigned to another defeat as the end of the season draws ever closer.
