Five star Shepshed Dynamo secure their safety with midweek win

SHEPSHED Dynamo ended a run of three straight defeats with an emphatic 5-1 win in their penultimate Northern Premier League Midland Division away game of the season at Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday night.
Shepshed were looking to put behind them a disappointing performance from Saturday and showed the determination early on to put this right. Kieran Cummings on his return from his dual spell at Newark & Sherwood United forcing a save from Keelan Fallows in the first minute.
Within five minutes Dynamo were in front Jack Lynch weaving through the Sphinx defence moved the ball right to Pearson Mwanyongo who returned the ball to Lynch to fire past Fallows from the edge of the area for his first ever goal in a Shepshed shirt.
Shepshed turned attack into defence on 27 minutes from a Dynamo corner Leo Brown was released down the right he outpaced Mwanyongo and drove his shot past Ganley into the bottom corner of the net to equalise.
In the third minute of injury time Charlie Wakefield curled in his corner and Prenderville headed home his first goal of the season to restore and give Shepshed a deserved lead at half time.
Shepshed were dominant in the second half and from a corner on 58 minutes Elwalid Elhaghany made a hat trick of firsts on the night as he scored his first goal for Dynamo extending Shepshed’s lead.
Dynamo made it four on 83 minutes Mwanyongo broke down the right and Shepshed had overlapped the Sphinx defence with substitute Shaun Ruzvidzo set free to fire past Fallows.
As the game went into injury time Kyle Dixon broke into the box and was brought down he got up and converted the penalty himself to make it five.
Probably one of the best performances Shepshed as a team have put together all season and as the club approaches its 30th anniversary season they are now mathematically a Step Four club for 24/25.
