CYCLE CHECK. A cycle check up session is planned at the Sutton Bonington campus of Nottingham University tomorrow (Thursday) between 12 noon and 2pm. It will be taking place outside The Hive.

SB FEST. One of the biggest events that takes place in Sutton Bonington is the annual Sutton Bonington Fest, staged at the Nottingham University village campus and taking place this year on Sunday May 5.

If previous years are anything to go by, hundreds of people will again be attracted to, both from the village itself and with lots of visitors from further afield’.

And a message from the organisers invites everyone to ‘Celebrate Sutton Bonington’ and see what can be offered from both a campus and the village.

The event is held annually and is dedicated to celebratin­g all things Sutton Bonington and will be operating on the day from 3pm to 11pm at the University of Nottingham Sutton Bonington Campus.

The slogan from the students says: ‘Join in for a full of food, music, beer and raising money for two local charities, LOROS and Meningitis Research Foundation.’

On the day visitors can explore the local farmers and crafts market featuring a range of local businesses and a new attraction this year will be that visitors can also visit the University Sutton Bonnington dairy farm.

There are lots of events taking place on the day, including the opportunit­y to make use of the ever popular bouncy castle, enter the dog show and take part in the numerous lawn games along with activities and games arranged by Sutton Bonington societies. The farmers and craft market will as usual be a big attraction for visitors and there will be live music all day long.

The dog show is always popular, with classes for a dog with the waggliest tail, one looking most like its

owner, best trick, most handsome and Best in Show.

The organisers would be happy to receive offers of help on the day, including for car parking, dairy farm tours and first aid support. Tickets for admission are available on the day for £5 per person, while youngsters under 12’s go free.

FOREIGN CURRENCY. The village Post Office at Sutton Bonington are geared up to help local residents who may need to obtain foreign currency as the holiday season approaches and are remind them that such can be obtained from them.

Anyone with a need has the option of ordering online with collection at the post office itself, order and collect from the PO, or just walk in and buy common currencies like euros and US dollars that are kept in stock.
