Students cut it on the catwalk
FASHION students at Macclesfield College have celebrated another successful year as they gain places on some of the most prestigious degree fashion courses in the country.
The fashion students have received offers from a wide range of universities including Birmingham, Nottingham Trent, UCLAN, Ravensbourne, MMU, University of Salford, University of East London and Middlesex.
The students’ term culminated with fashion show at the college where their designs were modelled by friends and fellow students.
Samantha Hough is one of the students who will start her BA (hons) fashion course at The University of Salford in September. She said: “This course has made me gain knowledge, experience and confidence in fashion and really made me test and challenge my ideas, I have loved every minute of this course and I can’t wait to go to university in September and let the next creative chapter unfold’’
Emily Hobbs, who will continue her studies with a BA (Hons) at Birmingham University added: ‘‘I never thought about going to university until I started working on this course, I have learned so much!’’
Angela Devoti, course leader, said: “We end the academic year once again with the year two students progressing onto some of the most highly regarded Fashion courses in the UK.
“Our students are filled with excellent core skills required for the industry from strong 2D skills to creative 3D translation. They undertake such an incredible journey of the creative process on the course and through nurturing and encouraging students allows them to discover who they are as young creatives giving them a perfect platform to communicate their individuality.”
