●» TRADESMEN of Macclesfield are being urged to momentarily put down their hammers and turn off their drills as Screwfix launches this year’s Britain’s Top Tradesman (BTT) competition.

Screwfix, based on Hulley Road in Macclesfield, is launching its annual competition to find and recognise the brilliant builders, exceptional electricians, helpful handymen and perfect plumbers that keep the UK’s homes and businesses in top condition.

Last year, Tom Ball, a joiner from Wilmslow, walked away with the crown after fighting off competition from thousands of others.

Tradesmen have until September 14 to enter the competition. To do so go into any Screwfix store, or go to screwfix.com/btt.
