Students and cafe boss join forces for bar
TWO university students have teamed up with a cafe owner to have a go at running their own bar.
Jordan Wilson and Kevin Broome, both 21 from Bollington, launched their bar last week at Amuse Cafe on Chestergate. They teamed up with cafe owner Julia Marshall after Jordan got chatting to her while working his other job at Cinemac.
Jordan said: “I explained to Julia some of the things I wanted to do over the summer and she said to come down and have a chat. It’s an exciting opportunity.”
Jordan has another year to go on a business management degree and Kevin has just graduated. Julia has given them tips on how to run a small business and shared her experience with accounting, management and business operations.
The bar will serve speciality beers, cocktails and food with live music. It will use a new phone app which allows guests to access an online playlist using mobile phones, upload tracks and vote for songs they want to hear.
Jordan said: “It’s Macclesfield’s first interactive bar, with an inclusive atmosphere with something for everyone.”
Wilson & Broome’s is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6.30pm.
