A BRASS band is calling for your help to win funding for new instruments.
Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, below, wants to buy new the equipment for children with asthma.
The exercise of blowing a brass instrument has been proved to proved to improve the breathing of people with respiratory conditions.
The group has been shortlisted for funding the Lloyds Bank Community Fund and in the running for a grant of £3,000.
But to win the band needs as many votes as possible before Friday, October 10.
They are up against three other groups bidding for the cash.
Louise Renshaw chairman of MYBB has appealed for YOUR vote.
She said: “The band is self-financing and if we were to win it would be a huge boost to our funds. Reaching the last four is great but we need a real effort from the Macclesfield community to get us across the line in first place.”
Macclesfield Youth Brass Band formed in 2005 and now boasts 120 members in its youth, junior and training bands, and drum corps.
Members aged seven to 19 rehearse every Friday at the Fallibroome Academy and participate in a programme of concerts, competitions and community events.
Earlier this year the youth band received a gold award and fourth place in the National Youth Brass Band Championships.
