Businesses given extra time to submit entries for our awards night

- KAREN BRITTON

THE DEADLINE for entries into the North East Cheshire Business Awards has been extended.

Organisers of the awards, which aim to celebrate the area’s businesses, have given companies an extra week to enter.

Now in their fourth year, they will culminate with a black tie gala dinner at previous winners The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford, on Wednesday, November 26.

The guest speaker will be David Kendall, a bank manager from York and experienced after-dinner speaker.

This year there are 12 categories and entries are welcome from all businesses, regardless of size.

The deadline was set for Tuesday, but has been extended to next Tuesday, October 7.

Ed Beattie, pictured, from web design and marketing agency Williams and Crosby on King Edward Street, has been helping to organise the event.

He said: “We are extending the closing date for a week.

“We wanted to give people a bit more time because of the influx of entries and popularity of the awards.

“Entries are still coming in so we wanted to give people more of a chance to be part of the awards. I would urge businesses to enter – what have you got to lose?

“It’s good publicity for companies and good acknowledgement of your success which you can share with your staff.”
