●● PRESTBURY Flower Club enjoyed two great events during September.
The first demonstration was by Anne Hinde, a national demonstrator from Ormskirk, and was entitled ‘Highlights’.
Anne is well known for her competition work, most recently at Southport Flower Show and in Dublin at the World Association Show, where her exhibit won a commended award.
Lesley Stafford, the group’s programme secretary, said: “She also travels widely and gave an interesting insight into demonstrating in Japan.
“She revealed that their work is exact copies from books, which they revere, and demonstrators are held in high esteem as experts.”
The club also held a workshop led by Jonathon Moseley from BBC’s Allotment Challenge, during which he taught people how to create a flower arrangement box from roof insulation.
Lesley said: “The wonderful results can be kept and used for many arrangements.”
The club meet on the first Wednesday of every month at Prestbury Village Hall, starting at 1.45pm. The next meeting will cost £5 to attend and takes place on October 1.
