QUEENS kept the pressure on leaders High Lane in the East Cheshire Sunday Football League, winning 4-2 at North West Fire.

The other game in Division One saw the tabletoppe­rs extend their 100 per cent record with a 4-3 win at A6 Juniors.

Division Two leaders Navigation won the game of the day, 8-5 at Westlands. There were marginally fewer goals in Dolphin Inn’s win over High Lane seconds, 7-3 the final score.

Meanwhile bottom side Poynton Legion suffered a 2-1 loss to Marple Villa.

In Division Three David Lewis beat Lord Byron 3-0 and Britannia were 3-1 victors at D&C Athletic but Richmond Rovers were on the wrong side of an 8-2 scoreline at Stockport Vikings Chieftains.

In Division Four Tytheringt­on Juniors won 7-2 at AFC Stockport thirds, their first victory of the season

In the Leek and District SFL, there were defeats for our local teams as Golden Lion suffered their first defeat of the season.

They went down 4-2 at Waterhouse­s and winless Railway View were beaten 3-1 at home by league leaders Elmos Celtic.
