Murder victim’s partner in crash

-

●● THE girlfriend of Parklife murder victim Robert Hart was injured in a three-car smash on the way home from visiting his grave in Macclesfield Cemetery for the first time.

Gemma Parry, 32, was rushed to hospital with stomach and neck injuries after the accident on Knutsford Road, Chelford.

The crash came just three days after the funeral of music-lover Robert, 26, from Macclesfield, who suffered fatal head injuries after being attacked at Heaton Park festival in June. Despite numerous appeals – including an appearance by Gemma on BBC’s Crimewatch – Robert’s killer has not been caught.

Gemma, pictured with Rob, said: “This has been quite horrific. The pain is ongoing.”

Margaret, 60, who was driving and suffered chest and neck injuries, said: “Gemma had wanted to spend some time with Robert. It was her first time to visit the grave since the funeral.

“This is a huge setback for her. She did not want to get into the ambulance. The last time she was in an ambulance was with Robert.”

They were discharged from hospital later the same day. A spokesman for Cheshire Police ruled out any criminal investigation.

She said: “We were called to a three-vehicle collision on Knutsford Road involving a white BMW convertible, a white Ford Fiesta Zetec and a silver Ford Fiesta Flame.”

Mrs Parry is now appealing for witnesses to the accident to get in touch with her via email maggieparry5@aol.com.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for help to trace witnesses about the attack on Robert at about 9.15pm on June 7. He was attacked after stepping in when Gemma was repeatedly hit with an inflatable toy in the huge crowd.

His killer has not yet been caught. The suspect is of mixed race, six feet tall, of muscular build, in his mid 20s with short hair shaved at the sides. He was clean shaven and wearing a dark-coloured jacket and shorts.
