Finance staff in college success
A FINANCE firm has launched a partnership with Macclesfield College after a third of its employees achieved qualifications on courses.
The 34 staff at Quintessential Finance Group completed ITQ City and Guilds Level two and three courses with the college.
The firm has established a dedicated training room on site at the Quintessential offices on Cottage Street where it ran weekly sessions for people to undertake training during working hours.
The college is now running a separate NVQ course in Customers Services, to provide people in both Customer Services and Compliance with additional skills and qualifications.
Mike Ransom, managing director at Quintessential, said: “The team have benefited from the training. We’ve seen a real improvement in the motivation and skills in the team as they have progressed.
“It’s great that we have access to such a high standard of education on our doorstep.
“At Quintessential, having highly skilled people is a huge asset.
“It’s critical we help our employees become the best they can be; for their personal development and ours as a local busi- ness and international organisation continuing to grow.”
Earlier this year the firm celebrated trebling its turnover from £11m to more than £34m and opened offices in the US.
Dawn Ridehalgh, head of business development at Macclesfield College, said: “Macclesfield College has proven successful links with the local business community and these relationships continue to thrive.
“This long term training programme with Quintessential demonstrates that this is a strategy that works for businesses.
“We are passionate about getting out and delivering training that makes a real difference to people and companies that ultimately has a posi- tive impact on their bottom line, as well as empowering employees.
“The college works hard to meet the needs of the business community and we are looking forward to cultivating our partner- ship with Quintessential through what I know will be an exciting year ahead.”
