Fundrais­ing col­lege stu­dents and staff give char­i­ties cash boost

MAC­CLES­FIELD Col­lege has given two char­i­ties a cash boost.

Staff and stu­dents man­aged to raise £1,282.24 with a host of ac­tiv­i­ties through the year.

That cash has now been split and do­nated to Just Drop- In, a free, open ac­cess ser­vice of­fer­ing support, guid­ance, ad­vo­cacy and coun­selling to lo­cal young peo­ple, and Windy­way Trust, which res­cues and re­homes an­i­mals.

Ann Wright, chief of­fi­cer at Just Drop- In, said: “This is a won­der­ful do­na­tion from the col­lege and is go­ing to­wards our Arts Award ini­tia­tive which is pro­vid­ing an arts work­sta­tion and craft ma­te­ri­als.”

Pat Barnard from Windy­way said: “The money is be­ing used to help with vet’s fees and to pro­vide food for the an­i­mals in our care at the Windy­way sanc­tu­ary.”

Prin­ci­pal Si­mon An­drews thanked staff and stu­dents for their ef­forts.
