Fundraising college students and staff give charities cash boost

-

MACCLESFIELD College has given two charities a cash boost.

Staff and students managed to raise £1,282.24 with a host of activities through the year.

That cash has now been split and donated to Just Drop- In, a free, open access service offering support, guidance, advocacy and counselling to local young people, and Windyway Trust, which rescues and rehomes animals.

Ann Wright, chief officer at Just Drop- In, said: “This is a wonderful donation from the college and is going towards our Arts Award initiative which is providing an arts workstation and craft materials.”

Pat Barnard from Windyway said: “The money is being used to help with vet’s fees and to provide food for the animals in our care at the Windyway sanctuary.”

Principal Simon Andrews thanked staff and students for their efforts.
