CLARIFICATIONS

-

IN his column in last week’s paper, our columnist Garry The Hat wrote that Barnaby Festival received a £2,000 grant from the Arts Council towards a community opera.

He also stated that grant income has not increased since the festival’s inception in 2010.

We are happy to point out that in 2010 the festival won £10,000 from Big Lottery towards the community opera, £5,000 from Arts Council England towards the Art Trail, and that the income from publicly funded sources has increased over the five years that the festival has been running.

WE would also like to point out that in our report of the inquest into the death of Lee Gosling in last week’s Express, Lee’s brother Matthew was incorrectly named as Michael. The report also stated that bags of caustic soda were found at Lee’s property following his death when in fact citric acid had been found.

We are happy to set the record straight.
