Pre­pare to party with 80s clas­sics

GET ready to crimp those pony­tails and coif­fure those quiffs as Rewind North fes­ti­val gets set to re­turn to Cheshire.

The 80s in­spired mu­sic event will fea­ture a host of acts from the decade – in­clud­ing The Hu­man League, OMD, The Boom­town Rats, Jimmy Somerville, Heather Small, Wang Chung, Bana­narama, ABC and The Su­garhill Gang.

This year ‘the one and only’ Ch­es­ney Hawkes will also be mak­ing his Rewind North de­but.

Orig­i­nally launched at Hen­ley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind The 80s Fes- tival boasts one of the big­gest line-ups of 80s artists in the world, and has fea­tured ev­ery­one from Boy Ge­orge, Vil­lage Peo­ple, The B52s, Glo­ria Gaynor and Holly John­son to the Thomp­son Twins’ Tom Bai­ley.

Simon Heart­field, CEO of Im­pre­sario Fes­ti­vals which or­gan­ises Rewind, said: “This Au­gust, Rewind The 80s Mu­sic Fes­ti­val will re­turn for the sec­ond con­sec­u­tive year, of­fer­ing true con­nois­seurs of 80s mu­sic the best two-day line-up of iconic record­ing artists and per­form­ers.

“The fes­ti­val will also fea­ture plenty of fun-filled side at­trac­tions in­clud­ing a live karaoke bar, fun­fair, posh nosh and theme bars, plus camp­ing and ‘glamp­ing’ camp­ing).

“Other fes­ti­val at­trac­tions in­clude The Si­lent Disco – a fun-filled, in­no­va­tive and highly en­ter­tain­ing way to party, pro­vid­ing ev­ery­one with a set of head­phones and have two DJs spin­ning the tunes si­mul­ta­ne­ously on two sep­a­rate chan­nels, leav­ing

(glam­orous you to flick be­tween them and lis­ten to the mu­sic you want to throw your best shapes to.”
