Prepare to party with 80s classics
GET ready to crimp those ponytails and coiffure those quiffs as Rewind North festival gets set to return to Cheshire.
The 80s inspired music event will feature a host of acts from the decade – including The Human League, OMD, The Boomtown Rats, Jimmy Somerville, Heather Small, Wang Chung, Bananarama, ABC and The Sugarhill Gang.
This year ‘the one and only’ Chesney Hawkes will also be making his Rewind North debut.
Originally launched at Henley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind The 80s Fes- tival boasts one of the biggest line-ups of 80s artists in the world, and has featured everyone from Boy George, Village People, The B52s, Gloria Gaynor and Holly Johnson to the Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey.
Simon Heartfield, CEO of Impresario Festivals which organises Rewind, said: “This August, Rewind The 80s Music Festival will return for the second consecutive year, offering true connoisseurs of 80s music the best two-day line-up of iconic recording artists and performers.
“The festival will also feature plenty of fun-filled side attractions including a live karaoke bar, funfair, posh nosh and theme bars, plus camping and ‘glamping’ camping).
“Other festival attractions include The Silent Disco – a fun-filled, innovative and highly entertaining way to party, providing everyone with a set of headphones and have two DJs spinning the tunes simultaneously on two separate channels, leaving
(glamorous you to flick between them and listen to the music you want to throw your best shapes to.”
