Macc Town appeals for help clearing snow ahead of big game

MACCLESFIELD Town Football club has put out an SOS for volunteers help to clear the pitch of snow ahead of Saturday’s match.

While last week’s snow has largely melted elsewhere, the pitch at Moss Rose was still covered in a thick blanket of snow yesterday (Tuesday, February 3).

Ground staff took to Twitter to plea for fans to come and assist to make sure the home tie against Welling United goes ahead at 3pm.

The Silkmen are currently third in the league and battling for promotion.

A spokesman from the club said: “To be honest we would welcome as many helpers as possible, the more the better!

“The sooner we clear the pitch the better it will be for the ground and the game.

“Its probably too soon to say the game would be cancelled because of it, but conditions like this would certainly not be very good if not dealt with.” If you have a few hours

spare and would like to help, please contact the club on 01625 264686 for more information.
