Creativity wanted

-

A CREATIVE ideas night is being held to support anyone in Macclesfield who thinks they may be harbouring a great invention or idea.

The Slice Fund are inviting applicants to pitch their ideas to an audience who will then vote on who should be given funding in their new venture.

Voters will be asked to pay £5 on the door, before listening to ideas from artists, engineers, scientists, or anyone with a creative desire.

One of the organisers of the night, Neil Puttick, was inspired by a trip to Berlin when he took part in an ideas auction.

He said: “My idea of an artwork was chosen in an ideas auction in Berlin, and I thought about bringing it to Macclesfield.

“There are a lot of creative people in Macclesfield and we need to bring that out, and ask them to come forward to take part in this.”

Money will be given for ventures such as gigs, artworks, experiments, film-making, or clothes designs.

One lucky winner will be chosen and walk away with the cash to help them with their creative ideas or inventions.

But as well as voting for a winner, the evening will also be a chance to exchange ideas and meet new people.

Nick added: “In any event like this, it is a chance for people to get their business cards out there and swap numbers and ideas.”

The Slice Creative Funding Night will be held on Thursday February 19 at 7pm at The Monocle Deli in Macclesfield.
