School choir chosen to sing at couple’s wedding
A CHILDREN’S choir from Ivy Bank Primary School were invited to sing at the wedding of a former pupil.
Jessica Pickford and Daniel Brownsill said their vows at St Peters Church in Macclesfield, and wanted a unique performance on the day.
And the couple thought asking the children’s choir to sing at the ceremony would be just the ticket.
Supported by their teacher Katie Barber, the children serenaded the congregation with a rendition of Gary Barlow’s ‘ Sing’, ‘Count on Me’ by Bruno Mars and traditional hymn ‘Make Me A Channel of Your Peace’. Their teacher, Katie, prepared and conducted the choir before the big day.
She said: “They sang with great confidence and clarity, there wasn’t a dry eye in the church.”
Katie and the children worked hard as they geared-up to share the wedding limelight with Daniel and Jessica.
There were many rehearsals, as the children wanted to know every word off by heart to make their wedding performance extra special.
Katie added: “I am extremely proud of them as they worked very hard to learn all the songs off by heart. Jessica is a former pupil so it was a great privilege to be involved in the day.”
