Needles at the ready, Claudia Winkleman is back for a new series that gives 10 home sewers the chance to prove that they are among the best in Britain. But no matter what their backgrounds or how much experience they might have, they will all be feeling nervous as they prepare to be judged by Savile Row’s Patrick Grant and the WI’s May Martin for the first time. For the opening episode, the theme is cotton as the stitchers are asked to make a pair of women’s trousers and give a new lease of life to a denim shirt.
