Breathe easy at new series of workshops by practitioner who teaches Russian technique

-

A PRACTITIONER from the town is hoping to help people breathe more easily with a series of workshops.

Sally Gething, who lives in Bollington, is running a series of talks and workshops for anyone with a breathing problem.

She says she can help conditions including asthma, emphysema, panic attacks or snoring using a Russian breathing technique called the Buteyko method.

Sally will showcase the method in Bollington in February and March.

She said: “If you struggle to breathe when exercising, when sleeping, when walking to the shops, or get asthma or panic attacks on a regular basis, then come along to one of the workshops and find out about the Buteyko method.

“This method of breathing control is already used by thousands of people across the world, is easy to learn and can be lifechanging for many people, as it gives people more control of their symptoms and can mean a decrease in the need for medication.”

Sally has taught the Buteyko method to 550 people, some as far away as Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

But most of the people she has helped live in Bollington and around the region.

She says the method is also used for eczema, allergies, poor circulation and any stress related conditions.

The talks start at 2pm on Tuesdays at Bollington Community Centre on Ovenhouse Lane, followed by a workshop. The dates are February 17 and 24, and March 3, 10 and 17.

Sally has written two books about the Buteyko Method.

Both will be for sale at the talks or are available in Heathcotes Butchers, Wellington Road.

Sally will be at Waterside Cafe in Clarence Mill on Saturday mornings at 11am between February 21 and March 14.
