●● GRANTS have been awarded to community projects in the town.

Bollington Arts Centre was awarded £750 and Bollington Brass Band was awarded £1,000 in the latest round of community grants by Cheshire East council.

The grants support small scale projects that will improve the quality of life for communitie­s. ●● A CHARITY car wash will take place today (Wednesday).

The car wash is by Cheshire Probation Service, Bollington Bridgend Centre and Friends of Bollington Recreation Ground. It takes place at the recreation ground from 10am to 1.45pm and costs £2.50 per car.

After the AGM, Duncan Toms talk about the subject of astronomy. The cost for members is £1.50 and non-members £3. The group holds shows and events through the year. ●● THE ANNUAL Senior Citizens’ Party is on Saturday, February 21 in the Civic Hall at 4.30pm.

The show is on Friday, February 20, at 8.30pm at the Dog and Partridge. ●● THE SERIES of Bollington Chamber Concerts continues on Saturday, February 21, featuring the Dante Quartet. It starts at 8pm at Bollington Arts Centre. Tickets cost £15, available online or by calling 01625 576402. ●● BOLLINGTON Festival Choir will perform Brahms Requiem at a show.

It takes place on Saturday, February 28 at Bollington Arts Centre, 9.30am.
