●● THE Prestbury Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 12, in the Village Hall on Macclesfie­ld Road.

It is an open public meeting hosted and organised by the Parish Council.

There will be an opportunit­y for residents to question councillor­s and to discuss their views on parish matters.

The meeting starts at 7.30 pm, to finish at about 9.30pm.

Refreshmen­ts will be provided. ●● THE new season of Sunday Teas starts on Sunday, May 10, in aid of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust at Prestbury Village Hall. The events have been running for almost 40 years now and have built up a reputation for being very welcoming and for serving a tempting array of home-made cakes and scones.

The Teas are served from 3pm to 5.30 pm and on some Sundays there is a short free concert in Prestbury Church with attendees invited to the Village Hall after the concert to enjoy the tasty treats with a cup of tea or coffee.

The organisati­ons taking part this year include Hampers of Hope, Cradle Concern, Prestbury Church Choirs, Bollington and Macclesfie­ld Sea Scouts, Prestbury W.I, Inner Wheel and Prestbury Pantomime.

The appointmen­t follows his recent success at Mottram’s sister hotels, the Telford Hotel and Golf Resort and Bridgewood Manor in Kent.

Michael joins as general manager this month and will be responsibl­e for the running of the hotel’s C&E and leisure operations, with 120 bedrooms and 11 conferenci­ng, event and meeting spaces catering for up to 180 delegates, following a £6m refurbishm­ent of the building’s features and facilities.

Michael Lavizani said: “QHotels understand­s its customers like no other, with each hotel listening and responding to what guests want to deliver the best customer service and experience. “It’s a unique group to be a part of and I can’t wait to deliver something really inspiratio­nal for our guests at Mottram Hall.”
