●● YOUNG performers are getting ready for a show based on a Roald Dahl story.

The junior members from Bollington Festival Players will be performing James and the Giant Peach this summer.

It follows on from the huge success of last year’s performance of The BFG last year.

Jane Wells, from the group, said: “For those who don’t know the story, it’s great family theatre.

“James Henry Trotter lives with his two horrid aunts, Spiker and Sponge. He hasn’t got a single friend in the whole wide world. That is not until he meets the Old Green Grasshopper and the rest of the insects aboard a giant, magical peach and their adventures continue.”

The performances are at Bollington Arts Centre on Wednesday, June 10, Monday, June 15 and Wednesday, June 17, at 7.30pm, and at Scout HQ, Church Lane, Sutton on Saturday, June 13, 2pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets available from bfptickets@ hotmail.com or by calling 07776 239613. ●● A CHARITY vintage and bric-abrac sale will take place at the Bridgend Centre on Saturday, May 9, from 10am to 3pm.

It’s free entrance and items will include jewellery, glass, pottery, textiles and books.
