Teen footballers out on top
CHILDREN are celebrating new lifesaving equipment in their schools.
Pupils and staff at three Bollington schools have welcomed the arrival of new defibrillators to deliver an electrical shock to a person’s heart in cardiac arrest emergencies.
Bollington Cross Primary School and the federation of Bollington St John’s School with Pott Shrigley Primary School worked together to secure A TEEN football team went out on a high with a win in their league.
The boys from Bollington United U16s team won Division One of the Stockport Metro League. It was the last time they will play together because manager David Goodall is retiring and players are funding for two defibrillators.
One is placed at Bollington Cross to be used by the school and also the nearby community at St Oswald’s Church. The other is currently at Pott Shrigley School.
Macclesfield and District Lions Club contributed part of the money and the PTAs worked hard fundraising to help pay for the defibrillators.

Lesley Chadwick, whose son William is going to Richmond Football Academy, said: “They are going out on a high.”
David Goodall, who manages the team with Richard Glover and Richard Barrow, said: headteacher at Bollington Cross, said: “We want to say a big thank you to the Macclesfield and District Lions Club for part funding the defibrillators.
“The schools’ PTAs funded the rest of the money to ensure we have access to this emergency equipment.
“St Oswald’s Church congregation will also be able to use the defibrillator based at Bollington Cross school if needed to benefit the wider community.” “I’m so proud of the boys, it’s been one of the best moments of my life.
“Division One is a very tough league. They are a fantastic bunch of lads. Some have played together since joining at seven years old.”
The presentation is on Sunday, May 17, at The Stockport Plaza.
