Farmer turned TV star en­joys care home visit

RES­I­DENTS of a care home were treated to a visit from TV pre­sen­ter and farmer Adam Hen­son.

The star of BBC Coun­try­file gave a talk on his life on the land at Prest­bury House Care Home.

The af­ter­noon of events started with home­made bis­cuits and cof­fee fol­lowed by Adam’s talk. There was a ques­tions and an­swers ses­sion be­fore a buf­fet lunch sand a tour around the home. Dur­ing Adam’s talk he spoke about his life run­ning the fam­ily busi­ness he in­her­ited in 1999.

Adam broke into TV work in 2001 when he was suc­cess­ful in gain­ing a pre­sent­ing po­si­tion on Coun­try­file af­ter the pro­gramme ran a na­tion­wide pre­sen­ter search.

He has worked on the spin-off Coun­try­file Sum­mer Di­aries as well as pro­grammes such as In­side Out and BBC2’s Coast, as well as work­ing for Sky TV and Cen­tral News.

In 2013, he teamed up with celebrity chef Nigel Slater to co-present Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen.

Adam co-pre­sented BBC2’s Lamb­ing Live along­side Kate Hum­ble.

Michelle Wal­ton from Prest­bury Care Home said: “Adam was wel­comed into the home with ap­pre­ci­a­tion from all who were look­ing for­ward to the af­ter­noon.”
