Farmer turned TV star enjoys care home visit

-

RESIDENTS of a care home were treated to a visit from TV presenter and farmer Adam Henson.

The star of BBC Countryfile gave a talk on his life on the land at Prestbury House Care Home.

The afternoon of events started with homemade biscuits and coffee followed by Adam’s talk. There was a questions and answers session before a buffet lunch sand a tour around the home. During Adam’s talk he spoke about his life running the family business he inherited in 1999.

Adam broke into TV work in 2001 when he was successful in gaining a presenting position on Countryfile after the programme ran a nationwide presenter search.

He has worked on the spin-off Countryfile Summer Diaries as well as programmes such as Inside Out and BBC2’s Coast, as well as working for Sky TV and Central News.

In 2013, he teamed up with celebrity chef Nigel Slater to co-present Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen.

Adam co-presented BBC2’s Lambing Live alongside Kate Humble.

Michelle Walton from Prestbury Care Home said: “Adam was welcomed into the home with appreciation from all who were looking forward to the afternoon.”
