Kerridge put up the shutters for a draw

-

KERRIDGE CC GEOFF ALLEN

PLAYED in appalling weather more suited to winter sports, it was credit to both sides for staying out on the park at Heaton Mersey for a full 90 overs.

Put in to bat, the home side accumulated 177 in their 45 overs to gain maximum batting points with the wickets being shared by the brothers Banks – Neil and Adam with two apiece and Steve Regan with one before a well-earned hot cup of tea. When Kerridge batted all managed to get a start but in the conditions wickets fell and at 76-7 after 33 overs it was time to put up the shutters which Adam Banks and Carl Ryder did successfully after Steve Regan top scored for Kerridge with 30 to see the game end in a draw.

Hopefully, there will be some summer weather at Clarke Lane on Saturday when Appleton make the trip over from Warrington.
