Students weave their magic for end of year design show
FASHION students have fused modern designs with the town’s weaving heritage for their end of year show.
The students at Macclesfield College took inspiration from the great weaving looms at Paradise Mill to come up with their fabulous designs, which will be showcased at Charles Roe House on June 24.
The show coincides with the 300th anniversary of Charles Roe’s birthday, as well as the 35th anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death.
Angela Devoti, fashion course leader at the college, said: “I am delighted to showcase our end of year fashion show at Charles Roe House this June. The show will be a real coming together of our town’s incredible and unique heritage with the future creatives, and a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and innovation.
“I would also like to thank Julie Hamer of Incubation Arts for all her support and Martin O’Neill.”
The students’ carefully constructed designs will be sharing the exhibition space which currently houses Martin O’Neill’s
. Joy Division photography exhibition, which has been organised by Incubation Arts.
