Drama students will shine at new showcase

PERFORMING Arts students are waiting nervously in the wings as they prepare to showcase their talents with a musical production.

The students at Macclesfie­ld College are producing their annual showcase tonight and tomorrow (10-11 June), which will be their chance to shine following a busy year learning their craft.

The pupils have chosen ‘Staged – The Musical’ which is a fun song and dance extravagan­za full of favourite songs from well-known musicals.

Sarah Bacon, course tutor, said: “This heartwarmi­ng, fun production of a brand new show will be a delight to any fan of musicals.

‘Staged – The Musical’ is a unique, fun-filled show that is a perfect evening out for the whole family.

‘“The students have worked so hard on this production. They are really excited and looking forward to performing for family and friends, as well as the local community.

“The stars of the future are right here at Macclesfie­ld College!”

She added: “If you are fed up seeing the same shows over and over again, why not join us and enjoy our new and original play ‘Staged’ and support local, homegrown talent brought to you by Macclesfie­ld College Production­s?”

Tickets cost £3 and are available from Macclesfie­ld College.
