●● A BARN con­ver­sion in Rainow has picked up a build­ing award.

Work to con­vert the stone barn at Lower Brook Barn, Smithy Lane into a house won a highly com­mended award in the Best Change of Use cat­e­gory at the North West LABC Re­gional Build­ing Ex­cel­lence Awards. The work was done by ar­chi­tect Hayes and Part­ners Ltd.

Cheshire East is cel­e­brat­ing af­ter three of the bor­ough’s de­vel­op­ments scooped top honours. ●● BOLLING­TON Arts Cen­tre is host­ing the play named Tal­bot House, Home from Home.

This is a story in words and mu­sic about the First World War cen­tre for sol­diers in Bel­gium which be­came the in­spi­ra­tion for the ‘Toc H’ Chris­tian move­ment.

At Bolling­ton Arts Cen­tre, there is art­work from a com­pe­ti­tion to dec­o­rate White Nancy.

There is a photo ex­hi­bi­tion at the Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre at Clarence Mill, and at Bolling­ton Li­brary there are paint­ings and po­ems by the chil­dren at St John’s Pri­mary School.
