●● THIS year’s sea­son of Prest­bury Sum­mer Mu­sic has now started and will con­tinue un­til Septem­ber.

It marks the 12th year of the popular in­for­mal con­certs, which take place on Sun­day af­ter­noons in the nave of St Peter’s Church.

Each con­cert lasts around 45 min­utes.

There is no ad­mis­sion charge, but dona­tions are wel­comed and are di­vided equally be­tween church funds and char­i­ties cho­sen by the per­form­ers.

The Love­don Singers, a quar­tet from Not­ting­hamshire, will per­form at the church for the first time on June 14 and on June 28 there will be a de­but vi­o­lin per­for­mance by Lisa Cox, fam­ily and friends, from Rainow on June 28.

The Sum­mer Mu­sic Pro­gramme, list­ing the full sea­son of con­certs, is now avail­able at the back of church.

Teas are avail­able af­ter each con­cert at the vil­lage hall. ●● THE Se­nior Folks’ Fel­low­ship is look­ing for vol­un­teer driv­ers.

Driv­ers are re­quired on a regular or ad-hoc ba­sis to col­lect one or two ladies at 2pm and re­turn them home at 4pm.

They are not re­quired to stay dur­ing the af­ter­noon.

The fel­low­ship is open to any re­tired per­son in the Prest­bury area and wel­comes new peo­ple.

So­cial af­ter­noons are held ev­ery Thurs­day in the Guide Hut on Bollin Grove, with sand­wiches, cakes and trans­port pro­vided when re­quired.
