●● THIS year’s season of Prestbury Summer Music has now started and will continue until September.

It marks the 12th year of the popular informal concerts, which take place on Sunday afternoons in the nave of St Peter’s Church.

Each concert lasts around 45 minutes.

There is no admission charge, but donations are welcomed and are divided equally between church funds and charities chosen by the performers.

The Lovedon Singers, a quartet from Nottingham­shire, will perform at the church for the first time on June 14 and on June 28 there will be a debut violin performanc­e by Lisa Cox, family and friends, from Rainow on June 28.

The Summer Music Programme, listing the full season of concerts, is now available at the back of church.

Teas are available after each concert at the village hall. ●● THE Senior Folks’ Fellowship is looking for volunteer drivers.

Drivers are required on a regular or ad-hoc basis to collect one or two ladies at 2pm and return them home at 4pm.

They are not required to stay during the afternoon.

The fellowship is open to any retired person in the Prestbury area and welcomes new people.

Social afternoons are held every Thursday in the Guide Hut on Bollin Grove, with sandwiches, cakes and transport provided when required. Contact Jean Wray on 01625 827590. ●● PRESTBURY Methodist Church will host its monthly coffee morning with stalls and a raffle at the Village Hall on Saturday, June 27, from 10am to 12pm.
